The Speaker of the Edo House of Assembly, Hon. Francis Okiye has been Impeached.
Okiye was removed following a motion by the majority leader, Henry Okhurobo and seconded by Yekini Idaiye, the lawmaker representing Akoko-Edo I
The impeachment letter was signed by nine of 10 assembly members at the plenary session on Monday
The House has elected Hon. Marcus Onobhu as the new speaker.
Hon Onobhu is representing Esan West constituency.
