The Oranmiyan Dynasty Organisation, (ODORG) a Pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group with base in Malaysia, has advised Yoruba indigenes in that country to shun the call for a rally to demand for Oduduwa republic, slated to hold October 1, 2020.

A group christened ‘Yoruba One Voice’, has called for a rally among Yoruba in the Diaspora, to demand for Oduduwa Republic

The group, which says it is  not against Yoruba being an independent nation, described the proposed rally as ill-timed and and enjoined Yoruba not to stick out their necks to be coopted into an arrangement that could run fowl to their peaceful living in their respective countries.

In a press statement issued and signed by ODORG’s Convener, Hon Jimoh Ibrahim Omogbolahan, the group said the planned rally would be of no meaningful benefit to the course of the Yoruba,

The Organisation posited that what the Yoruba need at the moment is gradual and painstaking awareness and not a rally.

“I write to inform the general public on the need to be cautious in going about the proposed rally, scheduled to hold in commemoration of Nigeria’s Independent Day, on October 1st 2020.

“Whereas we believe in the agitation for the total socio- political emancipation of our people through Oduduwa Republic, we take exception to any calculated shenanigans wrapped in the toga of love for our country. We should be seen to be patriotic.

“I plead with all Yoruba sons and daughters in Malaysia, and enjoin all of us to be more careful in this country, so as not to run against the laws of the land, because Malaysia is not a country that permits protests and other acts that may lead to total breakdown of law and order, especially by foreigners.

“Therefore, i advice strongly t that we should be more careful.

“I should here state categorically that I am in total support of Oduduwa Republic. But we have to be very careful because Malaysia does not leave chances for any foreigner to demonstrate or protest in their country.

“Let’s be orderly and be hopeful that our tomorrow shall be brighter than our today in this country,” he stressed.
