The Chief Whip of the Senate and former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, stormed the ancient city of Minna, Monday, in an undisclosed visit to his political leaders and other top political juggernauts in Niger State.
Kalu, a versatile politician, who has not hidden his interest in Nigeria’s presidency, arrived the power state at exactly 2 pm alongside political friends, associates and aides.
The Senate Chief Whip went straight to pay homage to former head of state and maverick politician, General Ibrahim Babangida (IBB), after which he proceeded to the homes of former President of Nigeria and Military General, Abdulsalami Abubakar, Governor of Niger state, Abubakar Sani Bello and Emir, Etsu of Lapai,,Niger State,
Even as details of the meeting are still being gathered as at the time of filing this report, there are speculations that it may not be unconnected with cementing the strong political base the erstwhile Abia governor has built with the north over time.
On arriving at former head of state, Abdulsalami’s residence, Senator Kalu was received by General Abdulsalami Abubakar himself and they later proceeded for an indoor meeting which lasted for over an hour.
The meeting is still ongoing as at the time of filing this report.
