The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio is about now set to appear before the House of Representatives Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

Also, to appear before the committee is the Acting Managing Director of the agency, Daniel Pondei, who was summoned at the last sitting on Friday. He had last week walkedout on the committee.

He had appeared with other management staff of the commission, and accused the chairman of the house committee on NDDC, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, of corruption.

He alleged that the chairman cannot be fair because he was also involved in the corruption issue.

In May, a group accused Tunji-Ojo of having benefited from award of contracts in the commission. He, however, described the allegations as shameful and baseless.

The NDDC has been embroiled in corruption scandal in the last one year.

President Muhammadu Buhari had ordered a forensic audit of the operations of the organisation from 2001 to 2019.
