Kano State governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is to head the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign council for the gubernatorial election in Edo State.
The APC is presenting Ize Iyamu who slugged it out on the platform of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2016 with Governor Godwin Obaseki who is now contesting on the platform of the PDP.
The APC had denied Obaseki its ticket and he defected to the PDP.
The APC campaign council headed by Ganduje is made up of 49 members with four other governors as members. Other high profile members of the council are the Deputy Senate President and two former National Chairmen of the party and Abbas Braimoh as Secretary.
Party’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena in a statement in Abuja said the appointment of the council followed the approval of the National Chairman of the party’s Caretaker Committee, Mai Mala Buni.
