Nollywood actress, Toyin Abraham has denied the reports making the round that she has been made the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) ambassador on coronavirus(COVID -19) pandemic.
There were reports that the ‘Alakada’ producer is replacing a colleague, Funke Akindele, who the agency had earlier said she was never engaged as an ambassador.
Abraham was seen on a video shared by NCDCÂ sensitizing the member of the public on the importance of regular handwashing and other precautions to avoid contracting COVID-19
But on her Instagram page this morning, the actress said she only appeared on the video and not an ambassador for the center or replacing anyone
âIt has just being brought to my attention that blogs are reporting that I am now NCDC ambassador. Implying that I have been used to replace a senior colleague,â the statement read.
âThat line of thought necessitate I put this out there. I am not an ambassador to NCDC. I do not like the narrative that I am trying to take advantage of a bad situation.
âPlease I support the campaign against COVID-19, I appeared on a video campaign against the pandemic but please letâs not drag anyone down. Thank you.â
