Nigeria recorded the first causality today as former Managing Director (MD), of the Petroleum Pricing Monitoring Corporation (PPMC), Suleiman Achimugu died overnight from corona virus.
Achimugu got back into the country from the United Kingdom two weeks ago and remained home until his death.
According to sources, the former PPMC boss started exhibiting symptoms last Tuesday. And his case was immediately reported to the NCDC for action.
However, family source claimed the NCDC officials subsequently came to the house and took the deceased blood specimen but never got back to the family.
As of Sunday afternoon, Achimugu was said to have been coughing profusely forcing his family to call the NCDC once again to inquire about his results, which turned positive..
The officials of the NCDC were said to have picked him up and rushed him to a Gwagwalada hospital where he died at 2am this morning.
His family are said to be currently under quarantine in his house while the NCDC has been assigned to handle his burial.
