massive explosion that shook almost the entire city of Lagos occurred this morning at the Festac area of the state.
The loud bang that jolted the entire Abule Ado, Lagos State University axis of the state was heard few minutes 9am on Sunday.
Residents say the explosion may be from some pipelines around the area.
Unconfirmed reports have attributed the explosion to the handiwork of pipeline vandals who are said to have used a sophisticated weapon on the pipelines with the intention to scoop oil illegally
Houses, including churches and other buildings, have suffered different degrees of damage. A correspondent’s house suffered shattered windows and a damaged roof while houses closer to the site of the explosion suffered more damage.
