Mother of former Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo, Martina, said she would not sanction the return of her son to the senior national team.
Mrs Ighalo stated this while granting a radio programme interview.
Her son’s rich vein of form in the colour of Manchester United has set tongues wagging about his possible return to the Super Eagles after calling time on his international career immediately after 2018 World Cup, citing threat to his life and family by fans on account of his underwhelming performance at the mundial.
“He is yet to mention anything like coming back to the national team to me, even if he wants to, I cannot allow him.
“He received a lot of criticism in 2018, a lot of threats, they threatened the entire family,” Mrs Ighalo said.
