Painful Exit: Air Peace Spokesman, Chris Iwarah is Dead

The Corporate Communications Manager of Air Peace, a fledgling indigenous airline, Chris Iwarah, is dead

Iwarah met his untimely death yesterday around the Murtala Mohammed Airport, MMA, Ikeja Lagos as he was fixing his official car which developed fault at Mangoro area of Ikeja.

Eye witness account said Iwara was rammed at by a moving luxurious bus whose driver lost control as a result of brake failure.

Iwarah, NigerianCurrent learnt was on his way to office alongside a colleague whose name was simply identified as Efe when the accident occured.

Efe was also said to have sustained injuries in the aftermath of the gory accident that claimed the life of the Air Peace spokesman who celebrated his father’s 90th birthday barely a week ago.

Aviation Correspondent, Chuks Iwelunmo described Iwarah as a fine, soft spoken corporate affairs manager who is dedicated to his job and was a delight to reporters covering the aviation beat.

The killer bus

Iwelunmo who is immediate past Chairman of the League of Aviation and Airport Correspondent, LAAC, said Iwarah’s demise was a big blow to the Nigerian aviation industry and indeed the journalists covering the beat

“He will be terribly missed for his humility and predictable readiness to assist on any matter that will make carrying out our duties as newsmen on the beat simple,’ he said
