Former justice minister under ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Mohammed Bello Adoke has recounted sensational events the followed the loss of his principal in the 2015 general election.
The defeat of the then Peoples Democratic Party led-government was rumoured to have caused acrimony among the party hierarchy including the then first lady, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, who reportedly hurled insult at Adoke.
The fugitive ex-minister, has however, confirmed the ugly incident between him and Mrs. Jonathan in an interview with Premium Times.
He said: “Yes. It is true that I was abused by the president’s wife. This happened on the 30th, a day before the concession. I don’t blame the president’s wife. I respect her as a person and I appreciate the fact that she voiced out her frustration and anger at me. That was better than those who pretend to be friends but would go to the president to say ‘Your attorney general is not with you; your attorney general is an APC member; he has sympathy for President Buhari. He is a Buhari boy’.”
When asked to confirm if the ex-President’s wife said he was ‘useless’, Adoke answered in the affirmative.
