One of the highlights of Wednesday’s inauguration of President Muhammadu Buhari for a second term in office was the conspicuous presence of two stalwarts of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
President of the 8th Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki and his colleague in the lower chamber of the National Assembly, Hon. Yakubu Dogara attended the low key event in Abuja.
Many at The Eagle Square were delighted that the duo not only attended, they stood in line to welcome the president to the venue of the inauguration when he arrived.
Many in the crowd saw that as a show of patriotism.
It will be recalled that only few days ago, the president had scored the two men very low on patriotism for mounting road blocks to his 2019 budget proposals, among others.
