An Imam from hell elicited shocks from worshipers after stealing a pair of shoes during prayer in Agege area of Lagos State.
The hair-raising incident occurred inside the mosque located in the secretariat of the local government on Thursday during Asri prayer around 4.00pm.
According to worshipers in whose presence the stranger-than-fiction unfolded, the main prayer led by the mosque’s Imam had been observed when the thief came into the mosque under the guise of performing his.
He was observing his prayer when some unsuspecting worshipers joined him to pray together and as a result he led the congregation as Imam.
While the prayer was ongoing, one of the worshipers farted, a situation, which vitiated his prayer and so he left to re perform his ablution.
On return, after observing his prayer he reached out for his shoes which he took inside the mosque but it was nowhere to be found.
Sources said that moment before the worshiper discovered his shoe had developed wings, the fake Imam was sighted leaving the mosque with the victim’s shoes.
Since it happened, the incident has been a butt of every joke told at the secretariat.
