Nigeria’s Emmanuel Amuneke has become a folk hero in faraway Tanzania after the country booked a place in the June 2019 Nations Cup in Egypt after almost four decades of struggle. Hours after the feat, Tanzania President Josep Magifuli offers the former Super Eagles star land, Officials, together with his support and technical team and the players.
Following the historic feat by Taifa Stars the president has given each member of the team including technical crew a plot of land in Dare Salam.
Amuneke led the team back to the African soccer biggest showpiece after 39 years of wait.
The president of the Eastern country hosted the team at the state house on Monday where the reward was announced.
Tanzania finished second with 8 points behind Uganda who topped group L with 13 points.
The team will know their group opponents for the tournament finals on April 12 when the draw will be made.
