PDP’s Emeka Ihedioha is Governor Elect in Imo

Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, and candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has been declared winner of the March 9, 2019 governorship election in Iimo State.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, made the declaration in Owerri, the capital, about midnight Monday.

Ihedioha, emerged winner in a filed of 70 contestants, with 273, 404 votes.

His closest rival, Uche Nwosu of the Action Alliance, AA, also son-in-law and former Chief of Staff to the outgoing governor, Mr. Rochas Okorocha, scored 190, 364 votes.

Former Senator Ifeanyi Ararume of the All Progressives Grand Alliance,   APGA, got 114, 676 votes.
