The Peoples’Democratic party in Ekiti State has suspended some members who have been fingered to be perpetrating anti-party activities especially PDP members in the House of Assembly.
Among those suspended by the party are Posi Omodara, Segun Adewumi, Fajana Ojo Ade, Badejo Anifowose, Olayode Omotoso, Cecelia Dada and Olanrewaju Olayanju
The party noted that despite the opportunity given the suspended members to change their ways of engagement in the party they have resulted to open collaboration with the All Progressive Congress to punish PDP members in the Ekiti State House of Assembly by suspending others who are not on the same page with them in game of anti-party activities.
According to the party, the suspended members equally on instructions of the APC Governor Kayode Fayemi suspended all democratically elected council chairmen and councilors who coincidentally are all members of PDP.
In furtherance of their gross indiscipline, the suspended members maintained silence on the report that the House of Assembly with PDP majority purportedly endorsed President Mohammadu Buhari for re-election which according to the party is seen as the highest level of irresponsibility and outrightly stepping on the face of the party’s constitution, hence the State Working Committee’s decision to suspend them while a panel has been set up to further investigate the extent of the damage the intenerrant members would have done to the party.
Adebayo added that part of the mandate of the committee is also to find out other collaborators who are members of the party and recommend appropriate sanction.
