Many people were feared killed when an articulated vehicle which suffered break failure ran into a market in Iworoko Ekiti last night.
Iworoko Ekiti is home to a large number of students of the Ekiti State University due to its proximity to the institution’s main campus.
Reports say the accident occurred about 7 pm when activities at the market are usually at the peak.
It was learnt that the truck was coming from Ifaki Ekiti and heading towards Ado Ekiti, the state capital when it suddenly swerved into the parked market.
Eyewitnesses also say that those killed included occupants of a mini commuter bus popularly called Akoto in the locality.
An amateur video of the incident obtained shows a large crowd of sympathisers wailing at the scene.
