NAAE Calls for Adequate Funding of NAMA Projects

The National Association of Air Traffic Engineers (NAAE) has called for adequate funding of on going projects,  sustenance and maintenance of completed facilities in all area communication centres across the country.

In a communique signed by the national president of NAAE Engr Ishaya Dung made available to newsmen in Lagos, also called for a better remuneration for ATSEPs in the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology Zaria and Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority Lagos as they performed key functions in training and quality assurance that enhanced safety in the aviation sector.

According to NAAE, all licensed ATSEPs should undergo annual medicals in line with international best practices in order to further enhance safety of Air Traffic.
It noted that ICT personnel were only recognised as associate members of NAAE as a result of non conformity with government approved ATSEPs scheme
The communique however commended the Federal government in the provision of State of the art CNS /ATM systems as upgrades and replacement of ageing equipment.
It called for the training of new recruits while Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel (ATSEPs) license and rating programmes should be vigorously pursued to increase the number of licensed personnel for optimal air safety.
