The ruling All Progressives Party (APC) has constituted a peace committee to resolve the disputes that arose from it’s recently concluded primaries ahead of the 2019 general elections.
Several state chapters of the party have been embroiled in crisis since the primary elections were concluded, with some governors accusing the party’s national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, of corrupting the process and demanding his removal.
It was learnt that the party constituted separate committees for each of the six geo-political zones.
They are tagged, ‘National Peace and Reconciliation Committees’.
According to a release signed by the National Publicity Secretary of APC, Lanre Issa-Onilu, the committees will be inaugurated on Wednesday by the party’s national chairman.
According to the release, the chairmen of the committees for the different zones are, Governor Abiola Ajimobi (North-East), Governor Abdullahi Ganduje (South-East), Governor Kashim Shettima (South-West), Governor Ibrahim Geiidam (North-Central), Governor Rauf Aregbesola (South-South) and Governor Umaru Al-Makura (North-East).
