A woman, Faith Adakola, has been arrested over the death of one Inspector Innocent Onyishi, an operative with the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team.
Faith and Late Innocent were in a romantic relationship. Leading up to the latter’s demise, the lovers visited Kirikiri at Apapa at the house of a friend of late Innocent, equally a policeman ostensibly to make love.
According to report, their host vacated the house for them but along the line things gone awry as the late cop started behaving strangely and stripped himself naked.
Faith whose marital status was unknown as the time of this publication was said to have raised the alarm which drew neigbhours to the scene. They were said to have rushed Innocent to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, but he died at the hospital two days after he was admitted.
“The inspector was a member of IRT. He and his lover visited his friend on October 8. He put up a strange behaviour while the friend was away and he was rushed to LUTH. He gave up the ghost at the hospital. The friend reported the incident to the police. The lover is under investigation. She was the only person with the inspector at the time he started acting weird,” the state Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Chike Oti said.
