Amosu Visits Mother who Gives Birth at 67

Even kings visits when miracles happens. This is especially true for a couple, Professor Samuel Olu Otubosin and his wife who for 39 years waited to have a child of their own. Their waiting ended on Saturday October 20, 2018 when God answered their prayers as the wife delivered a bouncing baby boy.

Ogun State governor, Ibikunle Amosu on Wednesday took time off his busy schedule, and visited mother and child at Atoke Medical Centre, a private health facility at the state capital. The sorrow of the couple suddenly turned into joy at their old age.

Prof Otubosin(Father) with Gov Amosu during visitProf and Mrs Otubosin had done everything they could, seeking medical help from Nigeria to India, all to no avail. They consulted doctor after doctor, went through various tests and procedures. But they refused to give up.

Mrs Otubosin becomes the oldest woman in Africa to successfully give birth by means of In-vitro fertilization, popularly referred to as IVF. The medical team which put in concerted efforts to ensure that her dream came through was led by the Head of IVF unit Dr Babatunde Okewale and his hardworking team.

The was elated that his wife had put to bed. But according to him, he was never disturbed by their infertility problem because he had full faith that she would conceive. According to him, about 35 years ago, it was revealed to him by God that he and his wife would welcome a special baby.
