The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it has registered 14 million new voters across the country within 16 months under the continuous voter registration (CVR) exercise, bringing the total number of eligible voters in the country to 84 million.
INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, made the announcement at a meeting with the Resident Electoral Commissioners, REC, in Abuja Thursday.
The registration exercise ended last Friday countrywide.
Nigerians will go to the polls in the first quarter of 2019 to elect new sets of leaders across the nation.
