Arrested by greed and blinded by his criminal tendency, a truck driver, Okoye Austin, aged 37 betrayed the trust and confidence reposed in him when he diverted a truckload of indomie noodles (about two thousand cartons) valued at five million naira.
The stolen goods was to be delivered to a customer in Ilorin but on getting to Oyo area of the state, the suspect sold the contents to a criminal receiver, Murtala Wahab.
Wahab, aged 46 was said to have bought the productat the rate of two million, five hundred thousand naira.
However, following report lodged to the police by one Emeka Achiage, the Special Anti-Robbery Squad swung into action and began a manhunt for the suspect.
Through diligent investigation assisted by credible intelligence, the exhibits were recovered and the suspect as well as the criminal receiver were arrested.
The driver, after disposing of the stolen items, later abandoned the empty truck along the Oyo/Ogbomoso road where it was eventually recovered.
