PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has been named the new Chairperson of the Economic Community for a West African States (ECOWAS).
He succeeds President Faure Gnassingbe of the Republic of Togo.
The appointment came on Tuesday evening at an extraordinary meeting of the body in Lome, Togo.

The NigerianCurrent believes in the Nigerian Project and that Nigerians, businesses and the government must work together to defend that project.
