The United Bank for Africa office located on Engineering street in Victoria Island, Lagos is on fire.
The cause of the fire is yet is yet unknown , but men of the Lagos state fire service are currently on their way to the scene to put out the fire.An employee of the bank who spoke with SaharaReporters on phone from the UBA Head Office said the incident sent staff, as well as people in neighbouring buildings and on the streets, scampering for safety.
The UBA Pensions Custodian Limited — a wholly-owned subsidiary of UBA Plc — located at 22B Idowu Taylor St, Victoria Island, Lagos, is currently on fire. An employee of the bank who spoke with SaharaReporters on phone from the UBA Head Office said the incident sent staff, as well as people in neighbouring buildings and on the streets, scampering for safety.
He also said Fire Service, emergency agency and security officials had been contacted. As of the time of filing in this report, information about the source of the fire and possibility/toll of casualty were still scanty. According to reports, it wasn’t a major fire outbreak and no damage was recorded. Reports also have it that the fire has already been been put under control as the Lagos State Fire Service officers are seen on the scene.
