Frontline All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Ekiti State , Senator Babafemi Ojudu has enjoined all party faithfuls to ensure that the Primaries scheduled for Saturday 5th in Ado Ekiti is peaceful, transparent and rancor- free.
Speaking with Journalists in Ado Ekiti, Ojudu expressed confidence in the leadership of the party in organizing credible and acceptable primaries, assuring that Saturdays Primaries will be a “showcase of party politics.”
“We have heard all sorts or stories about what some aspirants are doing or planning to do. But you see, APC is a party of decent people, majority of us have occupied or are still occupying very high offices in the land and as such I believe all the aspirants will conduct themselves peacefully.
“I have told my campaign organisation to ignore such stories and besides, we have no reason to worry, we have done our homework well. We started this journey well over a year ago, we didn’t just pull few people together, few weeks to the primaries saying we want to hijack the party ticket, No.
“We are sure of victory because what you will see on Saturday will be the outcome of yearlong hard work by very committed and dedicated team that traversed the nooks and crannies of the state selling candidate Ojudu,” he said.
The governorship hopeful described as “patently false” claim allegedly made by another aspirant that he had been anointed by President Muhammadu Buhari to fly the APC governorship flag in Ekiti.
“Sometimes it shocks me the extent some aspirants can lie in the name of politics. I believe, it is when you are not sure of your acceptability that you will be desperate about name dropping . I have said it over and over Buhari has never, and will never rig elections for anybody. Take it from me”, Ojudu declared.
The former Senator however, charged the delegates to the governorship primary election to vote a candidate that they are sure could win the primary at the general election and not one with low acceptance among the general population.
“I have an agenda that would revamp Ekiti and restore it to its pride of place. I know I have what it takes to face Fayose and his stooge Eleka and my advice to the delegates regardless of the inducements that may come their way they should vote according to their conscience by joining me in the mission to rescue Ekiti”, he added.
