Governor of central bank of Nigeria, Godwmin Emefiele has confirmed the release of his wife on Friday night
Margaret Emefiele, was abducted by unidentified gunmen, on Thursday along Benin-Agbor road.
Emefiele expressed his thankfulness to president Muhammed Buhari and security agencies for their intervention leading to release of his wife within 24hours.
“I am grateful to security agencies for their gallantry in bringing my wife back home within 24 hours in compliance with the directive of President Muhammadu Buhari,” he said in a statement Saturday.
“My gratitude to the Delta and Edo State governments, friends and well wishers who, through their actions, prayers and goodwill, helped to bring this harrowing experience to a joyful end.
“I reaffirm my resolve to continue to serve the nation diligently with all his heart without any fear of intimidation,” Mr. Emefiele said.
It was not clear if any ransom was paid to secure her release.
