Finally, It is D-Day in Edo as the postponed gubernatorial election holds today in the state.
The election which was shifted by the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) after security agencies issued an alert advising the commission to postpone the election will have 19 candidates to succeed Governor Adams Oshiomhole of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The election observer group has advised voters in the state to adhere to the rule of law when the election commences.
The Executive Director at the Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre, Mr. Clement Nwankwo also called on INEC to ensure the polls are free, fair and credible.
The main contender in the election is All Progressives Candidate(APC), Godwin Obaseki and People’s Democratic Party(PDP), Osagie Ize-Ayamu
