 Sylva Loses At Appeal Court

The Appeal Court Sitting in Abuja has upheld the election of Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State.

The five-man panel of Justices of the court ruled that the December 6, 2015 election in Southern Ijaw Local Government was invalid. But upheld the re-run of January 9, 2016.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, and its candidate, Mr. Timipre Sylva, are praying the appellate court to set-aside the decision of the election tribunal which upheld Dickson’s victory.

The court ruled that by participating fully in the January 6, 2016  re-run, the appellants can no longer complain about postponement or cancellation of the December 6, 2015 election.

It also ruled that the appellants failed to prove that the elections of DEcember 5 and 6 , 2015 and January 9, 2016 was seriously flawed.
