Mr Bola Aidi on Saturday in Akure emerged the governorship candidate of the Unity Party of Nigeria for the Nov. 26 governorship election in Ondo State.
The primary election coincided with the party’s state maiden congress.
Aidi, the only aspirant in the primary election, was unanimously adopted by 100 delegates across the 18 local government areas of the state.
He thanked members of the party for finding him worthy to carry the flag of the party in the forthcoming governorship election.
According to him, today marks the beginning of the end of slavery in Ondo state.
He said the party would return to the political scene for true service to the people.
Aidi said he would focus on development of manpower and job creation for all; if he becomes the governor.
The State Chairman of the party, Mr Rotimi Boboye, said the party was ready to take its rightful position not only in the state but in the entire country.
