Nigeria Wins First Olympic Medal, Defeats Honduras 3-2

The Dream Team of Nigeria has finally put their names in the Olympic medal tables following a 3-2 victory against Honduras in the men’s football event on Saturday.

In the 34th minute into the first half, saw Sadiq Umar and Aminu Umar in scoring in the 54th minute with assistance from Mikel Obi to put Nigeria ahead of the Honduras.

While in the 56th minute, Sadiq Umar scored another goal making it a comfortable lead 3-0 against Honduras
The Honduras team efforts could only give them two goals through Anthony Lozano scoring a goal in the 71st minute and Marcelo Periera scoring in the 86th minute making the score 3-2.

Mikel Obi assisted in all the three goals scored by the Dream Team to win the Bronze medal.

Some excited fans have tagged the bronze medal as alternative “ Gold medal”
