A federal high court sitting in Abia has ordered that Abia state governor, Okezie Ikpeazu be removed from office over a fake tax clearance.
In a suit filed by Uche Ogar, a Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) member opposed that the governor evaded tax prior to his election and as such was not qualified to hold an elective office.
The Chief judge, Okon Abang, upheld his argument and ordered that Ikpeazu be removed from office for submitting false information for the party primaries.
The judge also ruled that the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) to declare Ogar, his opponent in the December 2014 election as governor-elect.
However, in a swift reaction, Ikpeazu has urged his supporters to remain calm as he remains the governor of the state according to law.
