Chrissy Teigen, 30, and John Legend, 37, welcomed their first child, a daughter, on April 14. The pic of a hospital monitor reveals that the newborn weighed 6 pounds, 11 ounces.
John tweeted the news moments after his wife. “Our new love is here! Luna Simone Stephens, born on Thursday, the 14th. We couldn’t be happier!” he wrote.
The model and the musician revealed that they were expecting last October.
“John and I are so happy to announce that we are pregnant 🙂 As many of you know, we’ve been trying to have a baby for a while now. It hasn’t been easy, but we kept trying because we can’t wait to bring our first child into the world and grow our family,” Chrissy wrote on Instagram.
They’ve also been open about their struggles to expand their family.

Last year, Chrissy explained on her talk show, “FABLife,” that she and John were having trouble conceiving. The star admitted to undergoing IVF, and further confessed how difficult it was to field baby questions over the last few years.
In February, she endured criticism after revealing they’d selected the gender of their child.
“I’ve made this decision,” she told People magazine. “Not only am I having a girl, but I picked the girl from her little embryo. I picked her and was like, ‘Let’s put in the girl.'”
Before celebrating her impending arrival with a princess-themed baby shower in early March, Chrissy also admitted she consulted the leader of the free world to get his opinion on her daughter’s name.
“I asked President Obama if he liked one of our name choices, and he said he did,” Chrissy told late-night host Stephen Colbert. “But then I realized, I should’ve come up with two so he can pick one, because, you know, you gotta be nice about it.”
But she’s still glad she asked. “I wanted to ask him because John isn’t sold on the name,” she added at the time, “so I figured if [the President] liked it, John would be sold on it. But he says it’s too, um, Hollywood.”
It’s unclear if the name she ran by President Obama was indeed “Luna,” but either way, congrats to the happy family!
