
The launch according to Smile Communications is intended to change the face of Voice over LTE technology in the Nigeria market, following the widespread of voice technology innovation in the world.
Having spearheaded the VoLTE initiative in Africa, with its ownership and operation of a 4G LTE mobile broadband networks in the 800MHz band in Nigeria, and in the 800MHz and 2.6GHz bands in Tanzania and Uganda, the company is spreading its innovation to its operating markets customers would enjoy the benefits of two first-to-market services, namely SmileVoice and SmileUnlimited.
SmileUnlimited offers customers 30 days of unlimited access to Smile’s SuperFast 4G LTE mobile broadband services.
According to the Managing Director of Smile Communications Nigeria, Michiel Buitelaar,anyone who takes advantage of Smile’s data service “will surely not be cut off”, adding that the uniqueness of the company’s services is what sets the brand apart from any other usual concept.
“The capacity of voice network service is immense. Many of our consumers have between 6 and 7 megabytes per seconds and it has been a perfect service,” he said.
Tobe Okigbo, Smile’s Chief Corporate Services Officer, while clarifying the company’s stride in the market, he explained that t Smile has a unified access license like other existing prominent mobile telecommunications services providers, to offer mobile telecommunications services, but there had been an impression by Nigerians, that the company was just an Internet Service Provider (ISP).
He explained that voice, data, video services, among others, form part of Smile’s major services to its customers.
“When you are subscribed to Smile, you have everything that is within the confines of communications services,” Okigbo assured.
