The home based Super Eagles Friday at the Kigali Stadium in Rwanda were forced to a 1-1 draw in their second group C game at the ongoing 2016 African Nations Championship(CHAN).
The Eagles who won their first match against the Mena’s of Niger were pegged back from the first whistle by the feisty Tunisians who were faced with elimination if they lose to Nigeria. The Tunisians went for the onslaught and were unfortunate to have had 2 goals ruled out due to questionable calls by the match officials.
However the half time pep talk given by the Eagles head coach Sunday Oliseh immediately jolted the Nigerian side to positive action as they applied pressure and deservedly got the first goal through Chisom Chikatara who notched his fourth goal of the competition through a deflected shot past the Tunisian goalkeeper.
The Carthage Eagles came back into the match after apply pressure on the jittery Nigerians and pulled a goal back through danger man Ahmed Akaichi who also scored his third goal of the competition. Both teams were unable to grab the winner with the match ending in a stalemate.
The draw leaves the Super Eagles at the top of the Log with four points while Tunisia is in second place with two points with Niger and Guinea yet to play each other.
