Police Bans Protests, Rallies in Bayelsa

Policemen-e1403524501321The Bayelsa state police command has imposed a ban on rallies and protests in the state.
A statement by a Deputy Inspector General of Police, saying there were information that some people were planning to distrupt the on-going electoral process.
The statement reads: “Information at our disposal revealed that some disgruntled elements are planning to carry out illegal demonstrations, procession and rallies.
“This form of conduct will jeopardize the ongoing electoral process. Therefore, the command warns the intending perpetrators to desist from such acts, as it will deal decisively with any person or group of persons who wishes to engage in any conduct that will compromise the existing peaceful atmosphere.”
