In reaction to a recent accusations by Aminu Bello Masari, Governor of Katsina State, that the immediate past administration of Ibrahim Shema hurriedly awarded N7 billion road contracts at its tail end in 2015, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the State has faulted the claim by the Governor.
The party condemned Masari’s assertion, warning him to guard his utterances because no such contracts were awarded during the period.
In a communique at the end of its meeting attended by some critical stakeholders, Thursday October 29th 2015 at the Party secretariat, Kano Road, Katsina State, the PDPT said that contrary to the governor’s claim, the last segments of Road Contracts were actually awarded only in 2014 by the then PDP led administration.”
The communiqué, signed by Salisu Ali Sukuntuni (PRO) PDP Katsina State, said inter alia, “That the meeting noted with dismay the claim by Governor Aminu Bello Masari that the immediate past administration hurriedly awarded N7 Billion road contracts at its tail end in 2015.
The meeting appealed to the Governor to be guided in his utterances as the last segments of Road Contracts were awarded only in 2014 by the then PDP led administration”
The meeting reportedly slammed what it called lack of transparency in the application of multi-billion naira funds accruing to the state under Masari’s leadership.
“The meeting condemned in totality, the deliberate failure of the incumbent APC administration to respect its much talked about accountability/transparency in running the affairs of the State for the past five months ,despite its repeated claims to this direction,” the communiqué said.
