Independence Day Bombing: Charles Okah Attempts Suicide

CharlesOKahThe alleged mastermind of October 1, 2010 independence day bombing, Charles Okah was today attempted to commit suicide at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Okah, who is standing trial for terrorism sought the permission of the trail judge Justice Gabriel Kolawole to air his view on what he termed “endless trial” due to his lawyer’s absence in court

Justice Kolawole granted his request and asked him to speak for five minutes.

“Okah said he had been incarcerated for about five years now and he had family to cater for”
He went further to say his children would grow up without feeling the warmth of their father.

Okah ended his emotional speech and headed towards the window to jump from the five- storey building before he was stopped by the security operatives, lawyers and other litigants at the court.

Justice Kolawole adjourned the case till October 20, 2015 for continuation of trial
