Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has warned residents of the state against patronising fraudsters who go about using his name to dupe people.
El-Rufai said some criminal-minded elements were deceiving people that they were very close to the governor and were going about collecting money from them under the guise of securing government appointments and contracts.
Addressing a news conference on Monday at the Government House, Kaduna, Mr. Samuel Aruwan, the governor’s spokesman warned the general public to be on the lookout against the activities of such fraudulent people, adding that security agencies are presently trailing the culprits to arrest and prosecute them soon.
Aruwan said: “Our attention has been drawn to the criminal activities of fraudsters duping members of the public purportedly in the guise of securing government appointments, employment and contracts in the state and beyond.”
According to him, “The fraudsters have been dropping a Diamond Bank account number, 0061680758 with the name Martin Anderson. There is also one Engr Bello claiming to be a manager in NNPC with telephone number 08133613031 which he circulates via a fake Facebook account.
“The fraudsters who are cheating and collecting resumes and curriculum vitae (CVs) of ambitious persons have no mandate of the governor or Kaduna State government; they are criminals and the general public should take note.”
