Buhari Appoints Fowler As Acting Chairman of FIRS

President Muhammed Buhari has appointed Dr. Babatunde Fowler as the acting Executive Chairman of Federal Inland Revenue Services(FIRS)]

This was contained in statement released by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina. Adesina said Fowler will act in acting capacity pending his confirmation by the senate.
Fowler, until his new appointment was the Executive Chairman of Lagos State Board Of Internal Revenue from 2005 to 2014. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Wisconsin and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the California State University both in the United States.

Fowler, also holds an Honorary Doctorate Degree of the Irish International University, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and the Business Management Association of the United Kingdom.

Before joining the service of Lagos State Government , Fowler worked in the banking sector for about 20 years with long stints at Credit Lyonnais Nigeria Limited and Chartered Bank.

Buhari has also approved the appointment Mr. Aliyu Yahaya Gusau as Director-General , Budget Office of the Federation.
