Be Patient With Buhari – Okogie Tells Nigerians

OkogieCatholic Archbishop Emeritus of Lagos, Anthony Cardinal Olubunmi Okogie has appealed to Nigerians to give President Muhammadu Buhari ample opportunity to study the situation of things before embarking on his avowed crusade against corruption and insecurity.

He also argued that Boko Haram would soon become history.
Dismissing accusations that the Buhari administration is rather slow in implementing its campaign promises, Okogie who served with the military during the Nigerian Civil War, argued that as a soldier, Nigerians should expect their current President to strategise.

He said: “A good soldier always strategises. They take their time to do things. They don’t just jump into doing things. Don’t forget that he was a military head of state before. Now he’s putting on another cloak, so he has to be democratic. He has to study the ground first of all,” Okogie said, stressing that Nigerians must forget that the former military man had attempted to be President thrice.
