Buhari Is Determined  To Build   A Modern, New Nigeria – Ogbonnaya Onu

Ogbonaya-OnuChief Ogbonnaya Onu, a National Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), has said that President Muhammadu Buhari is working hard to build a new and prosperous Nigeria.

He said in Abuja Saturday when he received a delegation of National Association of Northern Nigeria Students who paid him a courtesy visit at his residence that everybody must prepare to work for the modern Nigeria Buhari is determined to build which all Nigerians will be proud of.
“The Presidency of Buhari is determined to build a modern nation for us, a nation that all of us as Nigerians would be proud of and other people outside Nigeria and other nations would be proud of and respect us. But we have to work for it.
“A new nation is going to emerge. You don’t have to worry about what you see today even though there are so many problems that have been with us for a very long time. But this administration is determined in line with its promises made to Nigerians during the campaigns to ensure that a modern nation, more united and peaceful is actualised.
“You should find ways to ensure that this administration succeeds. As students, you have to work very hard and generate the ideas that would help to solve the problems in the society.
“This is one of the means you can help the nation because most great nations had always had great universities. In those days when Egypt was renowned, they had great universities; when the United Kingdom (UK) led the world, it had Oxford University, ranked among the best universities in the world; now the United States (US) is leading the world and the best universities, whether it is Havard or Yale, are all in the US. So Nigeria would aspire to lead the world and you can do it.”
Onu called on Nigerian universities to generate ideas that would galvanise growth in the country.
The APC chieftain advocated for unity and cooperation among Nigerians to enable the country attain its objectives.
“We want Nigeria to be a new nation where differences will not pose any problems for us as a nation but, rather, would help us to be a stronger nation. Cement, sand and water, if you take any of them, they look so fragile; but if you mix the three together, they would be so strong that it can carry any weight. That is what we want to happen in Nigeria. We want our differences to be the basis of our strength. It shouldn’t be a basis of our weakness.”
Responding, the Secretary of the students’ association, Comrade Umar Farouq, said that they visited the chieftain of the APC to recognise his efforts at fostering a better Nigeria.
“As a chieftain of the APC, Sir, we believe that coming to pay you a Sallah visit is a good thing,” he said.
Presenting an award of leadership excellence to Onu, the leader of the delegation, the national president of the Northern Nigeria Students’ Association, Comrade Omoba Michael, said the award was in recognition of his excellent leadership qualities and contributions to the development of Nigeria and its people
