Buhari Appoints Amina Zakari As Acting INEC Chairman

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Mrs Amina Bala Zakari, a National Commissioner at INEC, as the Acting Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) following the conclusion of the tenure of Prof. Attahiru Jega.
Jega handed over the mantle of leadership to Alhaji Mohammed Wali, a national commissioner on Tuesday and bowed out of the commission at the expiry of his five-year tenure.

Mr. Haruna Imrana, Director of Communications for Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Barr. Danladi Kifasi said in a statement that the appointment takes effect from Tuesday until a substantive Chairman is appointed.
