Members of staff of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) have been commended for scoring an unprecedented 93.3% during the just concluded Aviation Security Audit.
Engr. Saleh Dunoma, Managing Director, FAAN who disclosed the achievement during an interaction with airport operators in Lagos, noted that men of the Aviation Security Department have also been specially commended for exhibiting high sense of professionalism and discipline in spite of the present challenges faced in the course of their duties.
Mr. Yakubu Dati, General Manager, Corporate Communications, FAAN in a statement quoted Engr. Dunoma as saying that the Airport Council International (ACI) came at his invitation in line with the Authority’s mandate for a safe and secured airport environment.
The statement said, “The Airport Excellence (APEX) in safety audit on the Standards and Safety of Airport facilities was conducted at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
“The 2-week audit which involved inspection of both day and night operations was done to ensure that these airports maintain their standards according to world’s best practices.
