President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the immediate suspension of the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu.
A source within the Presidency told BBC Hausa Service.
The suspension is coming after he was said to have spent the night in a police cell following his invitation to the State House to appear before a panel investigating allegations of corruption against him.
