UNHCR Appoints 2baba As Nigeria First Goodwill Ambassador

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has appointed Nigerian singer and Afrobeats legend, Innocent Idibia, better known as ‘2Baba’ as a regional goodwill ambassador.

In a statement issued by the agency on Tuesday 2baba is the first Nigerian to be appointed as a UNHCR goodwill ambassador.

The award-winning artiste also announced break the  good news on his Instagram page this afternoon stating  that this  will no doubt keep his commitment to supporting the efforts of UNHCR personnel and volunteers

“Honoured and humbled by my appointment as regional goodwill ambassador of UNHCR. Thanks for the recognition. Special thanks to donors and supporters of the cause,” he wrote in a post.

“This will no doubt deepen my commitment to supporting the effort of UNHCR personnel and volunteers who are on ground every day…

“…working hard to provide support and hope to millions of forcefully displaced persons across the world.”
