For as many that thought incumbent Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is a political novice, this news may shock you, as the nation’s number two citizen  has divulged the part Prof Pat Utomi, a former Finance Commissioner in Lagos State, Wale Edun, alongside with him played during the formation of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

APC was formed in February 2013 with members consisting of aggrieved members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, defunct Action Congress of Nigeria(ACN), Congress for Progressive Change(CPC), among others.

Osinbajo who was from the ACN, gave a shocking revelation of roles he played alongside the former Delta State governorship aspirant and revered economist, Prof Pat Utomi and Edun in the ruling party’s formation.

The VP made this disclosure at the fifth edition of the Airtel Touching Lives in Lagos via a statement his media aide, Laolu Akande, released.

Laolu quoted his boss as saying that some parts of the APC’s manifestos were their handiwork.

“In 2014, Mr Wale Edun, Prof. Pat Utomi and I met at Pat’s home to write portions of the manifesto of the APC.

“We all agreed that a fundamental pillar of our party’s plans must be to create a social safety net for the people. We were convinced that government owed a duty to the poor, the weak, the vulnerable and those who cannot work,” Laolu quoted his boss as saying at the occasion.
