Nursing Mother Arrested with AK 47 Rifles in Ondo

Detectives attached to Igbekebo Police Divisional headquarters in Ilaje Ese-Odo Local government area of Ondo state have nabbed a 29-year-old woman identified as Ebisemi Ebiyen, for allegedly concealing two AK 47 rifles inside her baby’s bag.

Information gathered revealed that the suspect who is currently cooling her heels at the police cell in the Department of State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (DSCIID) of the state command in Akure, was understood to have been arrested by the police who acted on a tip -off.

The woman, it was learnt, who could not give satisfactory explanation as to how she came about the dangerous weapons concealed in her bag, was reportedly arrested and consequently moved to Akure for proper interrogation.

A competent police source who spoke under the condition of anonymity, told our correspondent that the suspect was arrested based on information.

He explained that the victim was on transit within a neighbouring community with her six months old baby, when nemesis caught up with her.

Reports had it that the husband of the suspect has since absconded after he got the news that his wife had been arrested.

The Police source further hinted that the CID has sent a signal to the Force headquarters in Abuja to inform the Inspector General of Police, Mr Muhammad Adamu on the development.

Unconfirmed report said the state Police Command was making adequate arrangement to parade the suspect before newsmen shortly after preliminary investigations into the matter are concluded.
