Impersonation: Zainab Raises Alarm Over Fake Facebook Accounts

Zainab Aliu, the Kano State indigene, who was arrested in Saudi Arabia for trafficking in drug following the planting of tramadol on her luggage at the Aminu Kano International Airport but later released after her innocence was proven beyond any reasonable doubt, has raised the alarm.

Zainab, a graduate of English from   Maitama Sule University, Kano, said some unscrupulous persons are parading themselves as her on Facebook in an interview with Punchng.com.

The 22-year-old told the paper that she is not on Facebook, and expressed her anger at intruders who stealthily filmed her and went on to upload the video online without her consent.

Her word, “A lot of people are creating fake accounts in my name, whereas I do not have an account on social media. Some people will just come into our house while exchanging pleasantries with some family members. Some people will be videoing me and sharing it on social media, which is disgusting. They need to seek my permission before posting my videos and pictures on social media. I hate with passion when people come into my home to video me and post it on social media, without my knowledge.”
