Resident Doctors Embark On Indefinite Strike

National Association of Resident Doctors(NARD) has proceeded on a total and indefinite strike from today.  The asscoaition said the decision to proceed on strike was reached after the National Executive Council(NEC) meeting which lasted for seven hours on Sunday till Monday morning.

According to a statement by NARD president, Dr Onyebueze John, the doctors will proceed on the strike until all items in her demand list for strike action are resolved by Government.
The statement reads, “Rising from our NEC meeting, which started by 7pm yesterday and ended 3am today.
NARD has resolved to reject the promissory offer from Government, and proceed on total and indefinite strike action until all items in her demand list for strike action are resolved by Government.”
The doctors are embarking on a nationwide strike as a result of government’s failure to pay salary shortfall of 2016 and January to May 2017 and failure to rectify the salary shortfall from August 2017, as well as  Failure to circularize House Officers’ entry point, among others.

The doctors say  they wil sustain the industrial action until all their demands are met by government
